A few years ago I was asked to design the Piano Recital Programs for the SCAPA school in Kentucky (The School for the Creative and Performing Arts).

Once I got to know David Gillespie, director of the Piano Program, and the kids, who ranged from Elementary through High School, I was delighted to help design a program that looked as good as the music these amazing children are able to play. From Mozart to The Beatles, their talent is extraordinary.

Kids, parents and teachers all love their programs and cherish them as a form of yearbook memory. Each year I look forward to designing this project which is a great way to give something back to a beautiful artistic community.

The 2010 programs shown here were designed as trifolds with a very artistic script typeface called Cezanne which became a leading motif for both programs. They were kindly printed by VC Ink of Miami who did a fantastic job and selected two lovely papers by Domtar for each piece. This year’s program is in the works already and we wish all the best to the kids in their upcoming recital.
