Classy logo design for Country Club Port de Plaisance in Sint Maarten helps reintroduce high-end venue.

Country Club Port de Plaisance came to us for a redesign of their existing logo. Their wishes? A logo that would present them as a high-end venue, providing superior services to their clients in a luxurious setting, a logo that would help improve the image of the club under new management, and that would help them establish a presence as the premiere country club in Sint Maarten.

With a clientele largely made up of tourists, megayacht owners, yacht charter clients and upper class French and Dutch residents, the image needed to have an elegant and fresh feel. The new logo would also need to loosely relate to that of the Yacht Club Port de Plaisance, where the country club is located, a brand that we also helped design a few years ago.

After a detailed interview with the Club’s manager, and a period of research and sketching, we created an image that was successfully accepted and that communicates the concepts of an active and luxurious lifestyle, where guests can exercise and be pampered within a high-end tropical setting.

The new country club logo design will be used in a variety of applications that range from marketing materials, to website design, environmental signage, uniforms and more.

NOTES:

  • In addition to the above, we have also designed brochures for well known yacht builders such as Horizon Yachts, Westport Yachts, Outer Reef Yachts, as well as Catalogues for Yacht Charter Collections for companies such as ShowBoats Magazine, International Yacht Collection and Fraser Yachts.
  • Some of these brochures date back a few years and names or exact sizes may have changed after a sale or a refit. We have used the data corresponding to the time when the brochure was created.

Proud to present the new website design for the beautiful charter yacht 130' Westport Arioso.

Motoryacht Arioso is a 130' (39m) Westport available for charter. Arioso came to us looking to design and build a website that was easy to use, image oriented, and that would provide potential guests, as well as other charter agents, with a flair for what a luxury vacation on board would be like.

Arioso has a very special crew that truly embodies the high level of service and attention that private charters are all about and their feedback was paramount to the design of the site. It was after hearing from them that we developed 3 key sections covering some of the aspects that guests are most interested in: Activities, Relaxation and Cuisine.

The Arioso website design also features traditional sections such as specifications, photo and video galleries, online brochure and full crew page.

The Arioso blog is perhaps one of our favorite areas of the site as the crew have been keen to contribute to this unique and very fun space. From the Diaries of a Stewardess, where the chief stew narrates a day in her life and how she comes up with lots of special touches for the guests, to the chef’s delicious recipes, to the captain’s suggested itineraries, and finally the amazing yacht photography by engineer Leon, a visit to this blog is sure to leave you daydreaming and wishing you were onboard.

We are extremely grateful to all the crew, and to Lara Jo Lewis-Houghting at Churchill Yacht Partners who coordinated the project. Their motivation, insights, contributions and perfect organization were structural to the website’s success. You can visit the site at: www.yachtarioso.com

Custom drawn location maps help your readers focus on a destination.

AFTER: Custom vector maps show specific locations of interest

BEFORE: Maps downloaded from the web show lots of details but miss out on highlighting key properties. Weston map data © 2012 Google. Brickell map data © 2012 Google, Sanborn.

A custom drawn map is more than a pretty picture, especially when you’d like to help your audience focus on a specific destination or location.

If the location you’d like to show is big (a city, for example), an illustrated map can include the most important roadways and points of reference and omit those that are unnecessary.

This has become useful in many industries and we frequently create custom vector maps for areas that range from a small city block, to a group of Islands, in order to help audiences visualize destinations.

Full navigation maps in your GPS can help you “get there” with precision, while an illustrated map, can give a reader a sense of overall location, without overwhelming detail. As an added bonus, an illustrated map can be “branded” in style, color and overall look, so that it becomes a unique an integral part of your business’ proposition and not just “something downloaded from the web”.

Vector maps can be fully edited, which makes them extremely practical visual solutions.

In real estate this can be of extreme value as it allows an agent, firm or developer to showcase the location of specific properties. KoRes Corp, a well known Florida-based real estate company, has understood this and have begun to include custom maps in their Premium Property Brochures, such as the two examples on this post, highlighting featured developments in Brickell, as well as commercial suites in Weston.

Boat Show Marketing Checklist

With the Fall Boat Shows underway, we’d like to share a brief checklist of marketing and design related projects you might want to think about getting organized before it’s time to exhibit or visit an event.

You might have some items already done, some may be in progress, and others you might need to consider for the first time. Think of what applies to your business and plan ahead of time so hopefully you can minimize the last minute running-around.

  1. Logo design
  2. Business cards & name tags
  3. Postcards inviting guests to visit you
  4. Invitations to special events you may be hosting
  5. Corporate brochures, catalogues and other literature you’d like to share with your visitors
  6. Website up-to-date
  7. Digital presentation if you’ll have a TV on display
  8. Specialties or giveaways (tote bags, pens, fans etc)
  9. Uniforms (embroidered shirts with company logo)
  10. Trade show display graphics and hardware (from stands and structures to free-standing banners and flags, depending on the size of your display).

You can download this checklist for free in PDF format and feel free to contact us if you’d like to suggest additional items that might be useful for show exhibitors.

We’d love to help you with any of the above items, whether it be with a full design concept for a complete piece or project, or simply preparing your logo and artwork with the right format and specifications for a specific type of output or vendor.
